The same homeowner that had me build shelving wanted me to redo the closet that was in the playroom. Initially, the closet housed old clothes and jackets that were taking up valuable storage space in the closet. After the clothing was removed I proceeded to remove the old sliding doors and wallpaper, prep the walls for paint, paint the walls and ceiling, install new fully adjustable shelving and install hinged access with the existing sliding doors. Below is a visual run down of what was done.
After the sliding doors were removed the next step was to remove the wallpaper from the walls and ceiling.Once the wall paper was removed I spackled the problem areas, sanded the walls, primed and painted the closet. After the closet was dry the shelf hanging bar was installed. Before the shelving unit was installed I cut two sets of hinges into the jamb of the closet, one for each door. Once I had the dimensions for the hinges the doors were cut to size, sanded and the hinge locations were cut all in prep for paint. Here the doors are fully installed with new hinges and Baldwin Brass knobs. On my return visit the doors will be painted to match.
